About Rinaldi Flea Markets

The Rinaldi family has been in the antiques and appraisal business for 45 years!

The journey in the auction business went from radio appraisal shows reaching 5 states and teaching antiques, collectables at the college level, in addition to "live" auctions at our business location. Along with furniture and collectable auctions we also sold equipment and vehicles for the NYS Bridge Authority.

Rinaldi performs appraisals for Insurance and Estates. When Ebay, Facebook came along, it seemed like a natural extension of our career. It all started with my Dad Bill in his early 20s. He began working at a Pine Bush New York Auction Gallery under the tutorship of Colonel Peter Francese. After 4 years he decided this was the life for him. He graduated from the Missouri Auction School in 1976. That year, He founded Rinaldi Auctions in Millbrook, N.Y., conducting sales of fine art to furniture, jewelry, clothing, rugs, equipment, appliances and vehicles.

Dad started his appraisal business simultaneously, working for various attorneys, the local Commissioner of Finance and Department of Social Services. Of course, he also helped many individuals who were either settling a parent estate, needed to know the value of items for insurance purposes, or just wanted to find out more about a family heirloom. In 1980 he emceed call-in radio shows on WHUD-FM and WLNA-FM, both in Peekskill, N.Y. and on other stations as a guest appraiser. In the mid 90’s he also taught the Art of Antique Collecting at Dutchess Community College.

Rinaldi business, now run by Dr. Josh Rinaldi, is still in full swing doing appraisals, buying and selling-both privately, on Ebay and conducting annual charity auctions for several local colleges. Rinaldi tradition creates fund raising for the Alzheimer Foundation, New Horizons Golf Classic, Special Olympics.

Located in the heart of the Hudson Valley. Rinaldi Flea Market now features business building, through community based workshops, recycled art projects, all inclusive cultural performances, circus arts for health, live music and movement, visual arts gallery and multimedia installations. We encourage community projects at the market to help those who have encumbered restrictions. Any creative ideas are welcome.
